What is Classroom Guidance?
Guidance is just one of the ways I get to know the students at Voyager Academy.
What does it looks like?
I come to students' classes and teach a 30-45 minute lesson. I use short video clips, PowerPoint, books, games, role play, and worksheets to teach a variety of topics about personal/social issues, academics, and careers. The depths of the topics I teach are based on the age/maturity level of our students.
I like to have students show what they learned through a worksheet I create that usually involves writing and drawing. Many of these worksheets come home with students, so you can see what they discussed in Guidance that day.
